The bottom was painted, various engine related tasks completed, tracing and replacing of water lines in progress and future projects identified. Davits complete, solar panels installed and charging. The boat hung in the travel lift slings overnight to paint and resolve the centerboard binding by, presumably, cleaning out the trunk of mud, mussels, barnacles and other marine aquatic life that flourish in the nutrient rich waters of the Neuse river (compliments of upstream hog farms, I'm told). We were ready to be afloat, stow our belongings and embark on the next leg of our travels. Not so fast...
Cleaning, unfortunately, did not alleviate the binding. Hypotheses were developed, solutions devised and executed. While winching the board up to (hopefully) confirm success, a loud snap and resounding thunk as the centerboard buried itself in the ground told a different story.

The centerboard is removed and the boat is back on blocks. More time to complete projects while a little centerboard surgery takes place. Shooting for Tuesday or, more likely, Wednesday to be back in the water. All for now!
